Naomi was born with a rare genetic disease that creates chronic pain and compromises their immune system. They are an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister and registered yoga teacher who has been teaching embodied spiritual practices since 2005 and yoga since 2019.

A yoga practitioner for more than 30 years, Naomi’s understanding of yoga is deeply rooted in yogic philosophy and the ethical call of dharma.

After they spent years of their life unable to move without significant assistance or speak without an alternative communication device, Naomi learned to harness other energies to come back into their body and redevelop their voice. After this experience, they decided to train as a yoga teacher to share some of what they had learned with others. Embodied spiritual practice literally saved their life.

As a queer and genderqueer, fat, disabled person, their family legacy and personal commitment is toward intersectional anti-oppressive community and justice-making. Naomi is also a passionate cook, gardener, knitter, reader, and wheelchair dancer.
